Description

Measures total white blood cells in a blood sample. WBCs are your body’s defense force. Too many? Could be fighting infection or stress. Too few? Possible immune suppression or bone marrow issue. According to test conducted by Labcorp normal range is 3.4 – 10.8 x10E3/uL (x10e3 ul” stands for “times 10 to the power of 3 microliters”. It is a unit of measurement used in laboratory medicine to express the concentration of cells or other substances in a blood sample.)

Example:
If a blood test result shows “5.0 x10e3 ul” for white blood cells, it means there are 5000 white blood cells per microliter of blood.
